Where will your gift bag go?
We work with Independent Baptist churches, Christian schools, and orphanages in Mexico, Honduras, the Bahamas, Chile, the Philippines, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, India, Romania, Grenada, El Salvador, and Guinea-Bissau (Africa). We will add other countries as God opens the door. A Gospel tract or Scripture booklet is added to every bag. So many children have been saved as a result. It is amazing to see their faces as they receive the gifts. For most, it is the only present they will receive. This project is just a creative tool to give out the Word of God and see souls saved. A DVD is made each year with pictures of the project. We also post it on our video page.
Getting Started – Choose an age group and gender, then purchase the items on the appropriate label. Every bag needs to be filled to the exact specifications on the lists. This will eliminate problems with getting the bags through customs. Only fill the bags with new items. We will supply your church with special ziplock bags for the project. Just let us know how many you will need and we will mail them to your church. Please do not throw away unused bags. Either turn in extra bags, or save them for next year.
Label – Tape the label inside the ziplock bag so it shows through the window that’s printed on the bag. Fill the bags with the exact items on the label. The labels are in the brochures below.
Expiration Date – The expiration date on the toothpaste has to be after June 1st of the following year.
Donation – Include a minimum of $5 per bag to help cover ministry expenses. If you can give additional it would be greatly appreciated. One check can be written for several bags. Do not put the money in the bag. Make checks payable to “DirectLine Ministry” with a memo for “Gift Bags.” You can also donate online.
Body Wash – Put the body wash in a separate zip lock bag or tape lid closed.
Lollipops – Place lollipops in a small plastic baggie because they could melt in high temperatures.
Volunteers – Your church can volunteer to prepare bags for shipping at our warehouse. Many volunteers are needed.
Tip: Purchase small items and remove bulky packaging so everything will fit in the bag.

Give a Bible: If you have insufficient time to put together a gift bag, please consider giving the gift of a Bible to a young person or adult this Christmas. A donation of $10 or more to our Bible Club will purchase and help deliver 2 paperback Bibles or 1 hardback Bible. Make this check out to “DirectLine Ministry Bible Club.” All gifts are tax-deductible.
If you would rather give a donation to help with the Joy Bags instead of putting them together, you would be a great blessing! These donations would provide funds for transportation or purchasing extra items for the bags.
Some people like to donate extra toys that are not listed in the Joy Bag brochure. We appreciate everyone who wants to make a child’s Christmas extra special! Feel free to donate these items, but do not put them in the Joy Bags. Just turn them in separately, and we will make sure they go to a child living in poverty.
