Dear Friends In Christ,

We wanted to take this time to thank all who gave both to fill and to send the container. Our people were overwhelmed with your great sacrifice. These items will meet the needs of many people, from their spiritual needs to their physical needs. Each soul that is saved, and each life that is touched, will be added to your account. Phil. 4:17

Thank you for Caring, Bro. Bob and Mary Johnston ~ Missionaries to the Haitian people

(unloading the 40ft container)

On April 12th, DirectLine Ministry sent the first of several containers to Missionary Bob Johnston. He is working with the Haitian people living in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. There is a tremendous need for food and other supplies in these countries, but most of all a need for Scriptures to have an eternal impact. We are so thankful for several thousand pounds of food that were donated during our food drive. The container also included tents, walkers, crutches, hospital beds, medical supplies, Scripture booklets in Creole and French, and 20,000 pounds of corn. Without doubt, many will be saved by reading these Scripture booklets as they are shown God's love for their physical needs.

Thank you for donating goods and funds to ship the container! Please continue to help us as we prepare for the next shipment. We are still accepting food items and others supplies. We plan on shipping the next container around the middle of August.

About the Missionary

Bob Johnston has been working with the Haitian people for 20 years in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. He has 8 churches and a Bible college in the Dominican Republic, and 13 churches in Haiti. Bro. Bob is sent out of Grace Baptist Church in Green Castle, Missouri. He told me he had been praying for two weeks for someone to help him. He is not with a mission board and therefore has no big organization assisting him.

We are sending the containers to the Dominican Republic to get around all the problems at the ports in Haiti. Bro. Bob has two trucks that can be used to deliver the food, etc. to the people. We are currently having food drives along with other needed supplies. We also need funds to ship the containers. If you are interested in helping the Haitian people with humanitarian aid and reaching them with the gospel, please give us a call or send a check to our mailing address. Please put a memo at the bottom of the check for "Haitian Relief." This will be an on going fund because we want to continue helping the missionary reach the Haitians.

Read an Email from Missionary Bob Johnston: What a joy it was to be able to talk to you today and what an answer to prayer! You asked what our needs were. I will try to give you an over-all view. Even before this crisis in Haiti we were trying to find help for our people as they live from one day to the next. I feel the greatest need that we are trying to fill in the life of each one of them is their need of Christ. And this is our first and foremost priority. But at the same time we cannot stand by in their time of physical need and watch them waste away from hunger and sickness. Our needs are: food, clothing, bedding, with food being number one. You mentioned that there are some tracts and Bibles which we could use to help reach these people with the gospel at the same time we are reaching their needs physically. The needs are so great right now that there are no words to explain it. Anything that you could do to help us at this time would be more than appreciated. We assure you that all the help will be used directly for the needs of the Haitian people. God bless you Brother in the work that you are doing. It is a much needed ministry.
