Michael's Testimony

I was saved in 1973, and baptized shortly thereafter. God has allowed me to serve our church in different aspects over the past 30 years, such as trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and currently deacon and part time teacher.

In 1999, I had some major health problems and through this God changed my perspective of life. I knew I had been spared my life so that I might do more for the Lord.

In 2003, through the leadership of our pastor and his direct manner in preaching, I grew closer to God. In 2004, I felt God calling me into the ministry. I didn’t want to believe it and ran from it for almost a year. During this time I prayed and searched for answers. In May 2005, almost a year to the week, God confirmed to me his calling. Since then I have preached where God allowed and in December 2008 was ordained. MDHoover500x395

In 2008, God not only allowed me to retire at age 55, but through a visiting missionary began to burden my heart for mission work. During a mission trip with DirectLine Ministry, God confirmed that my burden was real. Missionary/Director Paul Deem had been praying for help. I feel God had brought us together. As of January 2009, my wife and I have joined the team with DirectLine Ministry. Please pray for us.

Debbie's Testimony

At the age of 12, I was quiet, shy, obeyed my parents and never caused any problems (at least not big problems). We went to church faithfully. I began to feel uneasy and uncomfortable during invitations at church. At home one day, my mother spoke with me regarding my need for salvation and shared God’s plan with me. That day I knelt by my bed and asked Jesus into my heart. My righteousness could not save me, only the blood of Jesus Christ and his righteousness.

For 30 years my husband and I have attended and are members of Willow Island Baptist Church in Pleasants County, WV. God has gently led me into his service. I currently teach children’s Sunday school and am the pianist and choir leader. He has also given me a love to sing for his glory.
